Uplifting Uganda
When
tragedy strikes you personally, you can draw even closer to the Lord or let your
service be ruined by the pain. Just a year after planting a new church in their
own home, Grace Nyanga and his family were doing mission work in the northern
region of Uganda in 2009. Upon returning, his wife, Goretti, and his four year
old son, Emmanuel drove west for a graduation ceremony. While travelling through
the forest on their way back home, they suffered a terrible car accident and
died. When he learned of the tragedy, Grace felt all alone in the world.
He then realized that he had the sole responsibility to raise their daughter,
Edith, and the several orphans they had recently adopted. This family held the
outlook that they would raise as many children as God gave them the means to
support. This, now became a much more difficult task. Grace chose to draw closer
to God and form a more intimate relationship with Him, not just to make it
through the pain, but to become a better servant along the way.
Grace Nyanga and his team have been preaching the gospel in Uganda through the
World Radio program since 2008 and now they are in need of your support to
continue that work. Jinja, Uganda is home to Harding Christian Academy and the
World Radio broadcast Mukago making it a hotspot for Christian training and
development. Now, as Americans, we realize the importance of Christian growth in
other parts of the world, like Africa, that are experiencing great explosions of
growth. Please commit to supporting the gospel in Uganda today.
