“We, at our age, just live one day at a time…” …says Leland in Colorado on the note he sent in with his gift for the preaching of the Gospel on radio around the globe. He goes on to say, “We pray for our country, world conditions and all missionaries. We count our blessings and praise God for being so good to us. We celebrated sixty-four years together. Praise God! Love in Christ, Leland and Dottie.”

We should all live one day at a time for, as Corrie Ten Boom said, “Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength.” More importantly, Jesus said, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?” (Matthew 6:27 NIV)

Jesus emphatically said to us over and over again in many different circumstances do NOT worry! In Luke 12:29 Jesus said, “And do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink; do not worry about it.” Jesus goes beyond don’t worry to, “Do not set your heart” on this life but rather set you heart on things above as seen in Colossians 3:1. “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.”

 
Because we set our hearts on things above, we are freed from worry and are able to press on to our mission of preaching the Gospel worldwide. Your partnership in the sharing of the Gospel is vital to accomplishing the mission Christ gave to all of us. With all of us partnering together we will continue to press on to fulfill the Great Commission that we read about in Matthew 28:19-20.
