August 2010 Report
In Esperanza on July 31 where I talked about that we were going to have a school for children, some hundreds attended. It was all a day of blessing that we did on a farm. We did a Bible school, studies for youth, there were sports, and many gifts; it was all a blessing.
August 16 on Independence Day we were with the youth in Montecristi with the purpose of helping them to maintain stability in the Lord’s church. Also there we did sports, we taught part of the history of this town, and there were wholesome games. All this we do with the desire that the youth remain in the church.
Brother Ben, brother Cándido Estrella of Puerto Plata would like to know if all of you communicated to the church the need that they have in the congregation. They need a help from you. You could see the place where they meet is much deteriorated and at the same time they are paying RD$8,000 pesos (note: US$215) and the place is not worth that. With all this you saw that it is a very noisy avenue. They need a help from you.
With respect to the radio program, all is going well. Through it some men and women come to the church. This time added to the church through baptism are: Michelon Alquelo, Ramón Estrella, María García, and Mildren Cava. This last one was a member of the Pentecostal Church. We thank God for you for helping us with the work of God economically in this region of the country. We pray much to God for the effort that you do for the work here.
We ask that you continue praying for Abner our son, and for Nuris’ health.
In Jaibón, Laguna Salada, we have a family of nine members. They are seven children and the spouses. Among the seven there are four orphaned by their father. We were in this place on Saturday. The house that they have has two rooms where the boys and girls sleep together. The little house is falling apart. We want to remodel it and make some more bedrooms to separate the boys from the girls. They live in extreme poverty. We have gathered clothes and food to take them. Pray for this situation that God helps us to do something for them.
