Joy in the midst of Haiti’s poverty

Over the course of our six days in Haiti, we distributed 4.5 tons of food (2/3 rice; 1/3 beans) to 22 places. Church after church greeted us with a kiss, literally, and gave us such a feeling of love; we’ll always have a special fondness for them... Yes, what you see is trash, sewage, and more trash. That’s all they have to live on. Once again we were greeted like kings. The church was started there and is growing. They sang to us in Creole and prayed with us. (more)

Christians are reminded on multiple occasions in Scripture to remember that we share a connection to Israel (Acts 24:17; Rom. 15:26). It is because of the hope of Israel that I am bound with this chain (Acts 28:20).

Challenges in Sharing the Gospel in the Muslim World

Most of us would agree that living in an Islamic country and sharing the Gospel with Muslim people would be nearly impossible. It is dangerous, there are language barriers, cultural barriers, religious barriers, and all this is mixed in with political problems.

Yet in spite of all the challenges, Peter Ofori, a Ghanaian by birth, moved his family 800 miles north to the capital city of Bamako, Mali, and began preaching and teaching. While response is slower than in many other African nations, he is proving to us that the Gospel really is the "power of God unto salvation!"
