The Garbage Church
“We are planting our new church on the city dump! No, you heard me correctly,
not near the city dump, but ON the city dump.” Can you possibly imagine someone
seriously working on a church plant with demographic studies, population
mapping, and cultural research coming to the conclusion that the best place to
build their church would be on the city dump? If I were planting a church, I
couldn’t see me getting to this conclusion, but I know a brother who did just
this and I want to tell you how and why he did it.

Uplifting Uganda
When
tragedy strikes you personally, you can draw even closer to the Lord or let your
service be ruined by the pain. Just a year after planting a new church in their
own home, Grace Nyanga and his family were doing mission work in the northern
region of Uganda in 2009. Upon returning, his wife, Goretti, and his four year
old son, Emmanuel drove west for a graduation ceremony. While travelling through
the forest on their way back home, they suffered a terrible car accident and
died.

Trotting the Globe Dianna Teel
Speaker Relations
In September 2009, seven of us flew into Tegucigalpa with the goal of sharing
much needed hope and encouragement with the Honduran people. We were very happy
to find Rigoberto Vargas (World Radio speaker in Tegucigalpa) waiting to welcome
us at the airport. With him were his daughter and a former prisoner who had
become a Christian. Just as exciting was to turn on the radio an hour later as
we headed out of the city and hear Rigoberto’s voice as he shared Christ’s
message to the prisoners.

Forever Changed
Sandra Chowns
Accountant for World Radio
Nine years ago, marks one of
the greatest tragedies this country has ever known. On September 11,
2001, two commercial planes flew into both towers of the World Trade
Center killing more than 3000 people. Our lives are now forever
changed. I, along with millions more, had family in New York City on
this terrible day. All phone signals were
jammed allowing no
communication in or out of the city. All we could do was watch the
news and pray for safety for our own family, the families of the
victims and the people holding on to dear life waiting to be
rescued.

Serving God, Serving You…

Donor Relations
“We, at our age, just live one day at a time…”
…says Leland in Colorado...
We should all live one day at a time for, as Corrie Ten Boom said, “Worry does
not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength.” More
importantly, Jesus said, “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his
life?” (Matthew 6:27 NIV)
